Natalie Zelt
Natalie Zelt is a curator and historian of art of the United States with a focus on photography. She earned her doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin in 2019. In 2021, she served as a Terra Foundation for American Art Photography Fellow at the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam. Zelt has worked as a curator for more than a decade, including independent curatorial projects, as a founding member of INGZ, and in institutions such as the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. She is the author of several articles on photography and identity in the United States. Zelt currently directs Framing the Field (along with Allison Pappas) - an independent research project about the institutional establishment of the field of photography in the United States from 1970 - 2001. She currently lives and works in Austin, Texas.
